You’ll notice we mentioned above that the common Buick Envision oil type is a fully synthetic oil. If you’re unfamiliar with the term “synthetic,” don’t worry. Let’s take a quick look at the differences between synthetic and conventional oil:

Synthetic Oil

• Mixture of conventional oil and artificial chemicals
• Lasts longer than conventional oil

Conventional Oil

• Natural oil that’s made from minerals in the ground
• Lower cost than synthetic oil
• Doesn’t usually last as long as conventional oil

Buick Envision Oil Capacity

When you give your Buick Envision an oil change, you’ll need to know how much you can fill it up with oil without pouring too much in it. The typical Buick Envision oil capacity maxes out at five quarts for a 2.0L engine. However, just like with the oil type, you’ll want to check your owner’s manual for the recommended oil capacity.

Performing A Buick Envision Oil Reset

After you have an oil change, your oil light might need to be reset. Here’s how to easily perform a Buick Envision oil reset:

1. Turn on the engine.
2. Use the control buttons on the right side of the steering wheel until you get to the information menu.
3. On that same side of the steering wheel, use the rolling button to scroll to the oil life percentage.
4. Once you find the oil percentage spot, push the rolling button in.
5. Use the arrow button on the same side of the steering wheel to select “Yes” when it asks if you’re sure you want to reset.
